Workshops

Workshops

Our in-person workshops are designed to engage, inspire, and empower students aged 11 to 18 through immersive tech education. Whether they’re building their first computer or learning how to stay safe online, every student leaves our sessions more confident, capable, and curious.
Each workshop is carefully tailored to the student’s age and experience level, using structured, 3-hour sessions delivered across five days. With industry professionals as instructors, real tools in their hands, and a practical approach to learning, our students don’t just study technology — they work with it.

Our Workshop Structure

5-day programmes made up of engaging 3-hour sessions

Real-world activities like device disassembly, component upgrades, and system troubleshooting

Collaborative projects such as game design and online safety case studies

Focus on digital wellbeing, mental health, and safe tech usage

All students receive a Certificate of Completion to boost CVs and future applications

3-Hour Workshops

Increased learning depth

The National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) suggests that spaced learning techniques, such as 3 hour workshops, are more effective for longterm retention than shorter, more frequent sessions. This deep understanding leads to better-equipped students, especially in teaching complex technical topics.

Ensuring flexibility

A 2016 study in the "Educational Psychology Review" found that flexible learning programs, such as shorter, focused workshops, can lead to similar or even better academic outcomes compared to traditional classroom settings. This suggests that shorter, focused workshops can be just as effective as traditional learning, especially when considering the spaced repetition aspect.

Optimising learning efficiency

The London School of Economics' 2018 study highlights a decline in sustained attention spans among young learners. Our 3-hour workshops, with a 15-minute break, optimise information processing and engagement, outperforming longer workshops that risk exceeding attention spans.

Age-Tailored Tech Learning

Minko’s Tech Workshops offers a range of programs designed to level up your tech skills, no matter your starting point. Whether you’re a curious beginner or a tech-savvy student, we have a program tailored to your needs and age group.

Building the Tech Foundations: Kickstart Your Computer Journey

This key stage lays a foundation in Information Technology (IT) skills, preparing students for more advanced topics. The program builds on their curiosity and ignites a passion for exploring the potential of computers.

Beyond the Basics: Mastering Your Computer

Today's students are digital natives, leveraging their computers for everything from learning to creating. Recognizing this advanced user level, our program goes beyond basic clicks and drags. We empower students to unlock the hidden potential of their computers by teaching them advanced features and techniques. This translates into a more powerful and efficient workflow, allowing them to truly push the boundaries of what their computers can do.

Get the Competitive Edge: Advanced Computer Skills for A-Levels and Beyond

As students approach higher education or careers, the program equips them with advanced skills like building a Hackintosh, giving them a competitive edge and fostering a spirit of exploration.
